ACCOMMODATION IN TAMPERE

The organisers have reserved rooms at the hotels mentioned below. To obtain the special conference rates, bookings must be made on the registration form. If no rooms are available in the hotel of your first choice, reservation will be made for the next possible alternative. Buffet breakfast and Finnish sauna are included if not otherwise stated. The room rates are quoted per night per room, including VAT 8%. For a twin room (two persons, two beds) please give us your room mate’s name.

Hotel deposit

To guarantee your hotel reservation a deposit of one night’s hotel fee is required. Reservations without a paid deposit cannot be accepted. The deposit should be paid together with the registration payment. Your deposit will be forwarded to the hotel and will then automatically be deducted from your hotel bill when checking out from the hotel. Remaining accommodation costs will be paid at check-out directly to the hotel.

Please, make sure you inform us of your time of arrival on your registration form. Your hotel reservation will be confirmed as soon as Tampere Conference Service has received the deposit payment and give the contact details of the hotel.

All alterations to accommodation reservations must be sent to Tampere Conference Service in writing (e-mail). If you need to cancel your reservation please check our cancellation and refund policy. 

Tampere Conference Service cannot guarantee availability of hotel rooms for reservations received after 30 April 2008.

Sokos Hotel Ilves

This 18-storey hotel is situated in the heart of the city. The Tammerkoski rapids and beautiful scenery are part of the hotel milieu. First class accommodation with five restaurants and a night club. Adjacent to the Koskikeskus shopping centre. The hotel has been renovated in 2006. Saunas, swimming pool, jacuzzi, gym and solarium. Distance to University of Tampere: 1 km.

Scandic Hotel Tampere City

A high standard business hotel, which has been opened again in July 2005 after a complete renovation. The hotel is located on the main street in the city centre just opposite to the railway station. Distance to University of Tampere: 700 m.

Holiday Inn Tampere

The Holiday Inn Tampere is a high-level business hotel situated in the centre of town, right next to the University of Tampere. Hotel Victoria is located in the centre of Tampere, just next to the railway station, near the University of Tampere. Hotel Cumulus Koskikatu

Among visitors in Tampere the Cumulus Koskikatu is a favoured base because it is just a short jaunt from the hotel to all the city's top attractions. Hostel Sofia

Hostel Sofia, owned by the YWCA of Tampere, is located in the centre of Tampere, next to the Cathedral, about 500 metres from the railway station and about one kilometre from the bus station. The hostel has been renovated in 2007. Beds have mattresses, blankets, sheets, towels and pillows. Showers and toilets are in the corridor. No sauna. Each floor has a little kitchen. Breakfast is not included. No single rooms available. Distance to University of Tampere: 1,2 km

Ilkko Course Centre

Ilkko Course Centre is located twelve kilometres to the east of Tampere in Kangasala, on the shores of Pitkäjärvi Lake. Ilkko has a stunning glacial ridge landscape and there is a 40-meter drop from the Ilkko cliffs into the lake. Beds have mattresses, blankets, sheets, towels and pillows. In most of the rooms there is a toilet, but showers are in the corridor. Sauna, swimming pool, garden church and cellar chapel. Distance to University of Tampere: 12 km. Regular public transport to the city centre and Tampere University is available.

These two hotels have neither reception personnel nor a reception desk, and thus no check-in or check-out procedures. The hotel concept is based on the principle of self-service. All possible work tasks have been completely automated using IT. Bookings and payment  ONLY on the Internet.
